Sedum 'Cutting Edge' (Sedum ellacombianum 'Cutting Edge') is a low-growing, variegated, and deer-resistant herbaceous perennial groundcover. Introduced in 2016, this 4–6 inch tall succulent features scalloped green leaves with bright chartreuse-yellow edges, yellow summer flowers, and high drought tolerance, making it ideal for sunny borders, rock gardens, and containers. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Characteristics & Care
- Foliage: Bright green with wide chartreuse-yellow edges; provides color from spring through fall.
- Flowers: Starry, yellow flower clusters (umbels) appear in mid-to-late summer (July–August).
- Size: Grows about 6 inches tall and spreads 12–18 inches wide.
- Light: Prefers full sun to partial shade.
- Water/Soil: Requires dry to medium moisture, well-drained soil. Thrives in sandy or gravelly soil and is very sensitive to overwatering.
